Jhenaidah Correspondent: A school teacher named Badiuzzaman Apo (51) died of snake bite in Istefapur village of Porahati Union of Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila.
This incident happened on Saturday night. The deceased Badiuzzaman was the headmaster of Madhupur Secondary School in Sadar Upazila. He is the son of Amirul Islam, the freedom fighter of that village. The relatives said that around 10 o’clock in the night, the pond collapsed next to the house.
A poisonous snake bit him. The family members rescued him and took him to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital where the doctor declared him dead. Dr. Limon Parvez, the emergency department doctor at Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital, said that the head teacher died before reaching the hospital. His relatives brought him dead to the hospital. If bitten by a snake, he should reach the hospital in the first hour, then he can be cured with treatment.
